2 New Videos

Just a note that I have added 2 new videos that I found at www.yourtube.com (via www.kiddlive.com). If you need a laugh, this will do it for you.

I put them on my side panel under "Video Clips" (appropriate title, I know) which is found right above the poll. The two new videos are called "Tom Curise on Oprah as it Should Have Been" and "Tom Cruise Kills Oprah".

Kudos to the person who creatively put these together.

One Day More...

This Saturday, I will achieve a goal I have had since 1998. While it is nothing that will change the world (or seem huge or important to anyone else) it is something I have wanted to do for a long time. I will finally be seeing the broadway production of "Les Miserables".

We did some music from Les Miserables my senior year in choir (that's right kiddos, Rob was in choir. Try and let that thought put you to sleep tonight). Anyway, being a drama buff I fell in love with Les Miserables. The story, the music, all of it fascinated me.

I made it a goal in my life to see this production one day. Once it came to Dallas, TX but I was unable to make it because it occured around the time of my back surgery. Then the news broke that Les Miserables, after becoming the third longest running broadway performance, would be closing.

Luckily, Producer CameronMackintosh decided last year to reopen the prduction for a special limited 6 month run. This run will make (technically, as of this past October, 'has made') Les Miserables the longest running musical in the world.

This 6 month run will end in Boston, MA. My wife was wonderful enough to get me tickets for Christmas. So...all that to say 'at the end of the day your another day older. And that's all you can say for the life of the poor. It's a struggle, it's a war and there's nothing that anyone's giving. One more day stnading about, what is it for? One day less to be living!'

Nor'easter Pics

Here are a few pictures from the nor'easter that blew through New England over the weekend. It dumped at least a foot of snow in most areas. From my semi measuremnt, I'd say it was around 20 inches where we're at. Pretty cool. Sunny weather tomorrow and most of the week so the worst of it will be gone before we know it.

The first pic was taken around noon (Sunday) and the darker ones were around 6:00.

Here is a picture of the car in the midst of the great dig out.

The car after some hard work.

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. No need for that, is there?

SUPER BOWL XL

After a very boring week off, the Super Bowl is upon us! To celebrate I decided to share some great facts featured in the January 30, 2006 issue of Sports Illustrated Vol. 104, No. 4 (all rights reserved...please don't sue me). So break out the bean dip and fritos and get comfy...its Super Bowl time baby!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Biggest Gaffe: In SuperBowl XXVII (1993), Dallas DT Leon Lett recovered a fumble and was preening as he rumbled toward paydirt when Buffalo's Don Beebe came up from behind and forced Lett to fumble.

Biggest Stage: The first big act to preform at halftime was Carol Channing at Super Bowl IV (1970). (Robert's Side Note - Be greatful there were no wardrobe malfunctions that day!)

Biggest Ratings: Super Bowl XVI (1982), in which the 49ers beat the Bengals, is the highest rated sporting event ever. It got 49.1 rating and a 73% share.

Biggest Incentive: Each Patriot earned $68,000 after winning the last two Super Bowls. Green Bay players got 15 Gs each after winning the first two Super Bowls in '67 and '68, and winners this year get $73,000 a man.

Biggest Bragging Rights: Joe Montana is the only player to be named Super Bowl MVP three times, for XVI (1982), XIX (1985) and XXIV (1990).

Biggest Way to Improve Your Chances of Being Super Bowl MVP: Play QB. 20 of the 40 MVP's have been quaterbacks.

Biggest Grocery Bill: Fans spend more than $50 million on food Super Bowl weekend. And estimated 8 million pounds of guacamole and 14,500 tons of chips are consumed.

Biggest Margin of Victory: The average margin of victory in the Super Bowl has been 15 points...but three of the last four have been decided by just a field goal.

Biggest Prize: Tiffany & Co. makes the $25,000 Lombardi Trophy that goes to the winning team.

Biggest Idea: Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt coined the term Super Bowl....Hunt came up with the idea while watching his daughter play with a bouncy Super Ball. Among the names discarded was "The Final Game".

Biggest Margin of Victory: In Super Bowl XXIV (1990), the 49ers beat the Broncos 55-10.

Biggest Bargin: Tickets for the first Super Bowl could be had for $10. On www.stubhub.com on Jan. 17, the cheapest ticket for this year's game was $2,199.

Biggest Bargin 2: For Super Bowl I (1967), advertisers got a 30-second sot for $42,000. This year it's 2.5 million for a 30, so $42,000 would get them about half a second of air time.

Biggest Wild Card: The Oakland Raiders became the first wild card team to win the Super Bowl when they beat the Eagles in Super Bowl XV (1981).
