Mike Sherman Hired

Texas A&M hired former offensive line coach (1989-1993 & 1995-1996) Mike Sherman to replace the debacle of a coach that was Dennis Franchione.

I was wondering what others thought about this hire. I know Sherman more from his time with the Green Bay Packers, but know that coaching in the NFL and NCAA are two different worlds. As far as tradition goes, it is a great hire for A&M. Sherman coached under R.C. Slocum who is basically royalty in Aggieland (as it should be).

So will Coach Sherman be able to turn things around for the Aggies? Can he take them to the next level? Post a comment and let me know what you think (both Aggies and NCAA followers welcome)!

In regards to this story you posted:
FUNNY CARE BEAR STORY
Addyson (my 2 year old) has gotton into Care Bears lately. So when I saw the following story on Yahoo, I had to read it. What gets me is the mother's quote.
**********
A metro area parent was shocked recently when her daughter stumbled across a pornographic Web site while looking for a cartoon site. Tracy O'Neal said her daughter, Stephanie, was looking for the Web site of the Care Bears, the cuddly cartoon characters, but because of a missing hyphen, the daughter unexpectedly found a porn site.
"I was repulsed," Tracy O'Neal told KMBC's Martin Augustine."All of a sudden, here comes up a lady and her pants were pulled down, and she was showing her bottom ... I will probably never go back on that site again," Stephanie O'Neal said."If that Web site has predators behind it, they need to be stopped. These kids don't need to be in this type of business. They don't need to see it," Tracy O'Neal said. The mother said she'll be watching her daughter's Internet activity more closely from now on.

She will "PROBABLY" never go back to that site again?!?!?! Doesn't sound like she was too "repulsed" to me. Probably? Seriously? I can picture these people already and in my mind, and they look a lot like rednecks.

What kind of Christian man are? You make assumptions and call this family redneck when you don't even know them? And, yes, I am also a Christian and I am appalled by you now. I would be upset if any of my children accessed that web-site. I too monitor what my kids do on the computer. Parents that care about their children do. Your thoughts aren't always right and you can't make assuptions about people you don't know. I believe parents should monitor their children. By the way, I am a PHD. in Business, my husband is a professor at a college and if you called us a redneck without knowing us, I would have to assume that you are an ass.

Robert, I meant to say I have Phd and a degree in Business. You say "Red Neck" as if it's a bad thing and a Red Neck can't be a Christian. That's the problem with computers! Too many people spend too much time on the computer instead of doing things in the real world. The computer has become the life of many people. I spend 30 minutes a day on the computer and sometimes, that is too much. You are no one to put others down!

Diane - Now sure if you would ever re-read this, but allow me the chance to defend myself. If one would have read the entire blog closely, they would have noted that the posting was not mine. It was found on another blog. I am not the one who said any of those things, nor did I find the article. I am generally in a great hurry when posting and did not mean to copy and paste the opinion part of that person's blog. I should have checked it better once I posted, but did not. I simply wanted to pass along information about how easily crap can be found online.

In my defense, you said I made an assumption about another person and then blasted me for it. With regards, you did the same thing to me. You know nothing about me and yet proceeded to call me names and assume you knew what type of person I am. You also seemed to indicate that I called you a redneck too, which I don't recall doing. Anyway, I apologize that the post upset you. Again, if read more closely, I clearly stated that it was taken from another blogger.

In that family's defense (of whom the article is about) it was the child who said they'd "probably" never go back. I have taught children and know that her saying probably doesn't mean she is thinking about it.

Anyway, I hope you read this. Perhaps I will post a blog about in in hopes that you will.
